Virginia Society Daughters of the Revolution 1776 is a patriotic and historical organization dedicated to honoring the men and women who supported the cause of American Independence and preserving the legacy they left for future generations.

As descendants of Revolutionary ancestors, we share a deep appreciation for the courage, sacrifice, and convictions that shaped the founding of our nation. We seek to cultivate pride in our American heritage, encourage the study and preservation of our nation’s history, and inspire a greater understanding of the principles upon which the United States was founded.

Through commemorative events, historical programs, preservation of documents and records, and the sharing of historical knowledge, we strive to keep the story of the American Revolution alive. We honor the traditions and laws of our Republic and encourage a thoughtful appreciation of the Constitution and the freedoms it protects.

At the heart of our Society is also a strong spirit of friendship. We believe that preserving our heritage is best accomplished together, and we value the bonds we share as women connected by a common history and purpose.
